Amidst uncertainty, paranoia and technological omnipresence, grungegaze outfit labyrinthine oceans’ sophomore EP ‘for the flesh and the machine’ holds a mirror up to dystopia, humanity and machines. Incorporating electronica and digital artifacts into their signature walls of reverb stained distortion and layered, cavernous textures, they twist the familiar sounds of the 90s alternative scene with something alien, drifting in limbo between organic and digital dreamscapes. A confident, experimental departure from their previous work, pushing sonic boundaries while staying distinctively and unashamedly theirs - all while dealing with incredibly difficult topics and addressing a reality that we are all collectively watching consume itself. A darker warning of losing yourself in technological paranoia, surveillance, toxicity and dystopia; which begs the question - will you accept the machine or abandon it?
