Emerging Grunge-gaze band labyrinthine oceans release their debut EP, “everyone was alive” on Friday 25th April 2025. After forming in Newcastle, the now London-based four-piece takes listeners on a journey of grief after the passing of the vocalist’s father. The EP explores the shift of how life was, then suddenly being permanently altered while having the complex process of losing someone so close to you.
Speaking on the release of “everyone was alive”, vocalist Julia says “Lyrically the EP does not sugarcoat the experience, it does not shy away from the messy, angry and discussing topics like suicidal ideation, self-harm and psychosis effects of losing a loved one. Processing a loss can make you feel detached from the world but, in light of this, I hope releasing this body of work gives someone dealing with grief comfort in knowing they are not alone. This project has an ethereal, ghostly presence throughout and nestles the darkness into something beautiful.
